Homing Heroes

Homing Heroes CIC turns long-empty buildings into supported homes for homeless and at-risk Armed Forces veterans, with community space on the ground floor and refurbishment linked to training and local regeneration.

About Homing Heroes

We bring empty and under-used buildings back into use as supported homes for veterans, starting in County Durham. Working with partners, we link refurbishment to practical training, local regeneration and long-term community benefit.

Any surplus is reinvested into the homes, the support, and the next building.

  • Supported homes for homeless or at-risk veterans

  • Empty buildings brought back into use, starting in Shildon

  • Refurbishment linked to construction skills and employability

  • Ground floors used for community-facing space or local partners

  • Surplus reinvested into future projects
